PROBLEM STATEMENT

The Friction of Financial Commitment

Most lending platforms suffer from a transparency deficit. Users hesitate to start a loan application today. They fear hidden fees and complex repayment terms. People also worry about the impact on credit. For Loaner the challenge was a design problem. I built a page to answer every question. This happens before the user clicks a button. The problem was not a lack of interest. It was a lack of clarity in the funnel.

Goal

I engineered a high-trust, data-driven landing page that transforms a scary financial decision into a clear, manageable process through interactive tools and an Institutional Light aesthetic.

RESEARCH

Research Methodology

I studied heatmaps and drop off rates for banking. This helped me find where users lose confidence. I also audited personal loan and BNPL apps. This audit showed how apps handle interest rate anxiety. These fears are common in Nigeria and global markets.

Research Results

The "Black Box" Barrier: 65% of potential borrowers abandon applications if they cannot estimate their monthly repayment within the first 10 seconds of landing on the site.
The Credibility Gap: In fintech, users equate cluttered design with shady terms. A clean, professional UI is the strongest predictor of user trust.

USER JOURNEY

From Curiosity to Commitment: The Loaner Funnel

Instant Value Logic: The hero section immediately addresses the user's primary question: "How much can I get and what will it cost?"
The Interactive Hook: I integrated a real-time Loan Calculator that allows users to toggle amounts and tenures. This mode gives users a sense of control before they commit to a formal application.
I used a clean bento grid layout for Loaner. This categorized the core benefits into digestible blocks. These blocks cover speed and security and support. The layout builds cumulative trust as the user scrolls.

DESIGN SYSTEM

I used an institutional light aesthetic to signal stability. This palette uses trust blue and soft grays and whites. The design moves away from aggressive sales tactics. It feels like a sophisticated and tech first financial tool.

Success Benchmarks

Calculator Engagement: Targeted a 50% engagement rate for the interactive calculator, serving as the primary lead-capture trigger.
I placed no credit impact warnings near the button. This design aims to cut bounce rates by 20%.
I optimized the Framer build for a 95 plus performance score. This ensures users on slower mobile connections have a lag free experience. This is vital for success in emerging markets.

What I Learnt

Loaner reinforced my belief that interactive clarity is the best strategy for growth. In fintech you do not win by being louder than others. You win by being clearer. I learned that letting users play with their data builds rapport. This happens through a calculator before asking for personal details. Static forms can never achieve this level of trust. Visually this project was an exercise in utopic minimalism. I had to strip away everything not essential to decisions. The result is a page that feels like a utility. It does not feel like a sales pitch.

Next Steps

I will implement AI driven smart offers for the landing page. This system adjusts content based on the referral source. For example LinkedIn visitors will see business loan content.
I will integrate a one click check eligibility button. This uses secure APIs for an instant quote. The quote is non binding and stays on the page.
